IET Initiative is an RT program for international travelers who want to avoid lengthy queuing at departure and arrival immigration/security check points.
The IET Initiative program starts as a one year trial program (starting November 2008)
Initially for Dutch and American citizens
At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Houston, JFK T4 and Dulles Washington
After a successful trial other citizens (EU and other) and countries can participate in a worldwide roll-out.
For the initial trial, IET Initiative links the existing Dutch Privium program (Amsterdam Airport Schiphol) and Global Entry (USA).
Members of IET Initiative benefit from expedited (fast-track) border crossing in both countries (departures and arrival).
Dutch and US citizens apply online via the IET Initiative website
Applicants are invited to the enrolment centre of choice biometric information is collected and applicants are interviewed by Government officials
Enrolment entitles the trusted traveler to experience the benefits of Privium and Global Entry in the Netherlands and the USA respectively
Participating countries (Border/Immigration Authorities) perform applicant-vetting to check their trustworthiness.
Background check status regularly updated to ensure member remains trusted.
All information is held according to each country’s privacy laws.
